Smoothies and Jack Johnson

There's nothing like a warm, sunny, spring day, with the cherry trees in full blossom, mixed with the breezy tunes of Jack Johnson, combined with a fresh strawberry/mango smoothie that makes a person long for summer and beaches! I'm now officially one week into the beginning of my 7th month here in Korea and let me just take a moment to say, "HALLELUJAH!" I'm EAGERLY anticipating my return home... after the possibility of going to Thailand for a short time...hey, I think I'll deserve it after this year of working approximately 310 days out of 365! The weather is getting a lot warmer here, and I'm afraid of the hot muggy summer, but I'll just have to deal with it! The warmer weather also means more "sightseeing" which I'm happy about. It's been wierd being in another country and not seeing anything of much interest. A couple weekends ago, Andrea and I enjoyed an afternoon at Gwangan-Li, a very nice beach area, where we sat on the perfectly sandy shores and watched the many passers-by and then were invited to drink some Dong-Dong-Ju with some old men. Quite Random, but funny! This weekend we're hoping to go to our friend Mr. Lee's house in Geumsan, which is about 2-ish hours by train/car away from Busan. Anyway, more on that later (and hopefully some good photos!) The time is ticking on and I've gotta get ready and get to work.

Saw your blog the other day...then got your email today...looking for those photos you mentioned...(?)
I'm glad things seem (or do they only seem?) a little better with your kids these days. Hope other things -like your health- continue to improove. :)

Hey Dave... did you wanna say anything else???? Not sure, but by the comma looks like you wanted to say more???
Hey I was reading on your blog about your vision to open/build... well that center for EVERYTHING! Sounds so good!
Have you ever read the book, "Becoming Human" by Jean Vanier? He writes about exactly (or close to) the kind of thing you hope to accomplish with this dream!
Hope things come together for you!

Er... the photo link on my website takes you to only one of my photo albums... once you click on the link, find a link that says "RachelMartens" click on it and then it should show you other albums to click on and view! Good luck!
The kids are getting better slowly, but surely...or maybe I'm just not caring as much as before about their progress:S
The health sucks as I've just gotten re-sick in the final stages of getting better... not pleasant at all! I feel miserable! ARGH!

Seanny...I miss you :( I love you!

Graham... It was only after I posted my comment and then re-visted your music site that I noticed you put (in QUITE BOLD PRINT) that it was a blog for your music students and their parents!!!! Oops... so much for reading the fine print... well bold print!
Hee hee!
I should be home in October... depending on if I want to go to Thailand! Well, of course I WANT to, but money plays are part in all these plans! But I can assure you that Senior's Appreciation day will resume upon my arrival... for you and me both! Hahaha!
I hear you've been good to my boyfriend... keep it up! hee hee!
Later Skater!

Hey Rachel. Heather Lilly, here. (I was in music stuff with you at Trinity.)

How cool that you're teaching english in Korea! It's definitely something I considered, would you recommend it?

Anyway, found you through Davey P. and wanted to drop you a note. I know being away from home can be hard but keep your chin up. These are memories you will always have and next year it'll feel like you were away from home for a moment - really - it's weird, but true.

Blessings to ya.

Heather... I saw your site posted on Dave's too and I knew I recognized your name!!! And today I visited your blog, hoping to find a pic of you because, even though I know your name, I'm having a hard time placing a face to the name :s So sorry... but I'm sure you know what it's like...so many people come and go out of your life at trinity...some stay for a long time, others, not long enough! So.... send me a pic:)
Thanks for the encouragement... I soooooo need it right now... I would recomment Korea, but you've got to be really "picky and smart" about the kind of job you take. I'm here with my sis (she's the one in all the pics!) and this is her second year and she's rather disappointed in this year because last year was so amazing for her...well, them's the breaks! Only 6 months left to go!
Talk to you soon!
